Hi, I am Malvona Ross-Sohl.

I am privileged to support adults, adolescents, and couples through life's challenges, whether it's navigating depression, anxiety, PTSD symptoms, grief, or major life changes. I offer a compassionate ear and a welcoming heart, understanding that reaching out for help can feel overwhelming. Please know that you are not alone.

My educational background includes a Bachelor of Social Work from Radford University and a Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. I hold a license in clinical social work in Virginia and have honed my skills over 10 years in mental health. I utilize a range of therapeutic modalities, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and cognitive processing therapy. I also integrate mindfulness techniques to foster present-moment awareness.

I specialize in working with adolescents and adults to heal from traumatic events, life transitions, anxiety, depression, peer-related challenges, and school-related issues. My extensive experience in both community mental health and hospital settings has given me a holistic understanding of mental wellness, allowing me to offer comprehensive support to my clients.

During our sessions, I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where you can express yourself freely. My approach is holistic and tailored to your unique needs, ensuring we collaborate on a personalized plan to help you achieve your therapy goals.

I am eager to join you on your healing journey and look forward to our work together.

*I accept Optum, United Health Care, and UMR health insurance and self-pay clients. I am in the process of becoming credentialed with Anthem, and Blue Cross & Blue Shield.

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your mental health journey.
