Hi, I am Sophie Conklin.

Throughout my life, I have found that my purpose is to provide a space for others to feel heard and healed. I am passionate about helping individuals grow and enjoy discovering new and inclusive ways to tailor sessions to each client’s preferences.

I earned a degree in Psychology and Visual Art from Penn State University and a master's in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (UWM). Throughout my studies, I actively sought out opportunities to learn how to better assist the LGBTQ+ community and survivors of domestic violence abuse and sexual assault through internships and courses. At UWM, I expanded my focus to include relationship conflict (romantic or platonic), self-esteem and self-care, couples counseling, and life transitions. I encourage my clients to grow and utilize new lenses to view the world through. I also value self-growth and continuous learning in my personal and professional life. These are elements that I hold in high regard and strive to maintain in my service.

I've discovered that certain therapeutic methods can be truly transformative, particularly those rooted in a client-centered approach and the incorporation of mindfulness techniques. Each person has unique experiences, and respecting and acknowledging their diverse backgrounds during sessions is important. As we work together, I aim to assist you in a way that honors your unique culture and aspirations while simultaneously creating higher curiosity about your thoughts. In the face of complex circumstances, it's natural to feel overwhelmed or reactive in challenging situations. Still, we can work on developing healthy coping mechanisms and a kinder way of looking inward to manage conflicts. Let's build your resilience together.

I'm currently a Supervisee in Social Work under the guidance of Rhaea Goff, LCSW, LCSWC.

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your mental health journey!
